Midsommar (2019) - An EXTREMELY loud crescendo

Ari Aster is becoming one of my new favorite Directors. Last year he debuted with the incredible Hereditary (2018). This year he's done it again with Midsommar (2019). This is an insanely gut wrenching film that's beautifully shot and performed, as was Hereditary. But with a movie this f***ed up, you have to wonder: What goes in inside Ari Aster's head? I doubt hes actually as messed up as his movies are but still, all art says something about the artist. Next to Spielberg, Aster is a Director I'd be most interested to meet in person.

Overall, Midsommar is an extremely loud crescendo of grief, pain and suffering that is beautifully made and acted. Check this one out if you're up for the wildest ride of the year (so far). But I don't recommend eating beforehand.
